How to play Snake
Open Snake, check the instructions and begin a round. Keep collecting apples. Hitting a wall or your body ends the round; filling the entire board wins. Keep the game area visible while you use its controls. Compare the starting position with the example in the Guide. Choose a clear next step rather than rushing through the instructions.
Notice the feedback
Watch the feedback after an action. A message can explain whether the input was accepted or whether a rule needs attention. Make the next step deliberately.
Your goal
Keep collecting apples. Hitting a wall or your body ends the round; filling the entire board wins. An attractive position is not enough unless the goal is met. Check the rules when you are unsure.
Step by step
- Press Play to start the movement.
- Turn with arrow keys, swipes or the on-screen direction buttons.
- Each apple adds ten points and makes the snake longer.
- Pause when needed or start a new round.
Controls
Keyboard arrows, swipe gestures or the four direction buttons. Play / pause controls the movement. A careful first action helps you become familiar with the layout. Avoid pressing the same control repeatedly while a move is being processed.
A useful example
When moving right, you may turn up or down, but cannot turn immediately left into your own neck. Your next round may have a different position, so inspect it before acting. Consider the next action carefully.
Watch out for this
The snake continues moving between inputs. Plan a route with space to turn. Read the feedback to see why an action did not have the expected result. Watch the feedback after an action. A message can explain whether the input was accepted or whether a rule needs attention.
