How to play Maze Adventure

Start Maze Adventure by looking at the playing area and its controls. Move into the exit at the bottom right. The game counts the steps you take. Choose a clear next step rather than rushing through the instructions. Identify the playing area and the controls you need. Check the relevant rule before repeating a move.

Keep the aim in sight

Keep the stated aim separate from side details such as animation or appearance. Progress is measured by the game’s own completion or scoring rules. Notice the feedback after each input.

Your goal

Move into the exit at the bottom right. The game counts the steps you take. Keep that objective in view throughout the round. The example below illustrates a decision.

Step by step

  1. Start from the upper-left cell.
  2. Move through openings using arrow keys or direction buttons.
  3. You may also tap a neighbouring cell connected by an open passage.
  4. Reach the gold exit or generate a new maze.

Controls

Arrow keys, on-screen direction buttons, or a click/tap on an adjacent reachable cell. Use the control method described here for this activity. Use the visible help when you are unsure of the next input.

A useful example

If a wall blocks the cell to your right, try another opening; the token cannot move through walls. Use the example as a guide rather than a substitute for reading your board. Notice the change in the playing area.

Watch out for this

Only immediately adjacent cells can be reached in one move. A different version of the game may use a different rule. Before your first action, say what you are trying to achieve. Then compare the result with the goal.
